This pieris relative is a slow growing evergreen shrub. The small (2') shrub has bronze new growth and dark green waxy foliage on arching stems. The white flowers are typical of most leucothoe species.
This 5-6' shrub has 3" long leaves splashed with golden yellow and pink. The stems are deep purple red. Flowers are white racemes similar to Pieris japonica. Our plant grows in full sun, but probably best in the shade.
